Hoya spartiodes (Dwarf form, UPT020)

Disclaimer:
This batch of Hoya spartioides originated from a single self-pollinated seed pod. While we grew multiple seed pods alongside one another, the seedlings from this particular pod consistently developed a unique dwarf, stacked growth habit with shorter internodes and a more compact appearance. After extensive grow-out and observation, this trait has remained remarkably consistent across the majority of the batch and is not the result of pests, disease, or environmental stress.

Hoya spartioides is capable of self-pollination, and several of these dwarf individuals have gone on to produce seed pods of their own. That said, as with many naturally occurring mutations, variation is still possible. Out of more than 50 plants grown from this line, a small number eventually reverted to the typical Hoya spartioides growth form.

This behavior is similar to what has been observed in Hoya microdwarf, a dwarf mutation of Hoya nicholsoniae that can occasionally revert back to its original growth habit. While we believe this compact trait is stable in most plants from this line, future growth may vary from plant to plant.
