Hoya nabawanensis is a species native to Sabah, Malaysian Borneo, specifically around the Nabawan region where it was first documented and later described by botanists studying the rich biodiversity of the area. This variegated form is a cultivated variation, selected for its striking cream to yellow variegation that contrasts beautifully against the deep green foliage.

Hoya nabawanensis (variegated) features elongated leaves with clean, smooth surfaces and irregular splashes to sectoral variegation. Each leaf can vary, ranging from subtle marbling to bold streaks, giving every vine its own unique look. As the plant matures, the contrast becomes even more pronounced, especially under brighter conditions.

Natural Habitat:

In the wild, Hoya nabawanensis grows as an epiphyte in the humid lowland forests of Sabah. It climbs along tree trunks and branches, thriving in filtered light, warm temperatures, and consistently high humidity with good airflow.
