Hoya lacunosa (variegated) is a striking variety of the Hoya lacunosa species, distinguished by its silver, curved-in leaves. The leaves have a thick, waxy texture and curve inward, giving them a unique, sculpted appearance. It retains the beloved compact growth habit of the species, and like other lacunosa varieties, it produces clusters of fragrant white flowers.

Care Instructions:

  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight should be avoided to prevent leaf scorch.
  • Watering: Allow the top layer of soil to dry between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot.

Recreate conditions under a tree canopy, where plants receive lots of light, but it is filtered through the foliage of the trees above. Your light should be bright enough to cast soft shadows.

Low Humidity: Ideally Above 40%

This Hoya tolerates a drier environment. However, it could still benefit from light humidity care, including misting and grouping together with other houseplants. May require humidifier in cooler, drier months.

Intermediate: Lowest 60F

This hoya does not require high heat, but does not tolerate cold as well as other varieties.

This plant will not change color under bright light.

Way smaller than I expected

"I saw the post on the UPT Facebook story (1st picture) that the plant looked nice and full, which made me decide to purchase, since I thought I would receive the similar size of the plant. Then when I received it the plant was way smaller( 2nd pic), which kinda disappointing. I tried to communicate with the customer service. It’s understandable after I was explained that the size should be based on the website photo not their advertisement on Facebook. However, the customer service was very offensive and trying to blame it was the customer that asked what they didn’t pay for, and customer should not be greedy:(. They told me the website was the minimum size before I purchased and based on the other customer reviews they usually get bigger size from them. Unfortunately , the one I received was the minimum size, again which was understandable cause I wasn’t promised to get bigger size. It was just the way of their expression and attitude of the customer service. I didn’t ask beyond what I paid for. Instead, it was kind of pricy compared to the average market price for that size that I size. I’ve spent thousands of $ on UPT and I’m a loyal customer. But this time I really can’t stand for the service. Throughout the communication nothing was productive but just trying to blame the customer and saying there was nothing wrong with them. They said they gave larger plants to some other customers and make them having higher expectations. But I’ve never had any bonus which was more than what I paid. So it’s not fair to say that to the customers. I didn’t feel respected for this kind of service and I’m disappointed."
