Here on the left are pictures of my Scindapsus Treubuii “dark form”. As you can see, it has calcium deposit built up on the leaves from watering using hard water (water that is high in mineral content including calcium). You can try to clean the leaves with distilled water and you may be able to clean some of the deposits off but it would not be enough and you would have to scrub your leaves hard to clean them. Well, the risk of damaging your leaves are pretty high with this method and not to mention, it may look like you’ve cleaned it all off but after the water dries off, you’ll see the white spots again.

FAQ ABOUT THIS PLANT
Why is it called '“dark form” or “black”, it’s not even black.

ANSWER: They are actually not black. They’re dark green. The photos you see on the internet are not actually that dark. My photos are supplied with enough light to be able to show you the calcium deposits and dirt on the leaves better. Don't get me started.

I have been using this method for years and have yet to give me any problems. I hope this works for you as well!
